Few days ago I wrote about SoundCloud Downloader, which can download music from SoundCloud as MP3. I have also wrote articles on YouTube Downloaders, which can download from YouTube in different formats including MP3. Today I will write about SoundDownloader which can download music from both SoundCloud and YouTube as MP3 and AAC format. According to the developer

it is a Free, Simple andUseful sounds downloader which help you download the free music audio streaming files(MP3, AAC) to PC from soundcloud.com and youtube.com. It allow you download all soundcloud songs and tracks, even if the songs and tracks are listen-only.

Features & Specifications

• The installer [5.6 Mb] is not digitally signed.
• Installation went fast and smooth. Installation requires 18.3 Mb of free disk space. Opens Webpage after installation finish.
• On launching the software, it will ask you to register it. Don’t worry, it is freeware, see the last part of the post for the free license.
• The software GUI is pretty straight forward; Enter the Youtube or SoundCloud link, select output format (MP3 or AAC) and click on Download.

Main GUI

• There is no minimize button on the GUI but by clicking on its entry in Taskbar, the GUI can be minimized.
• The software is multilingual; supports 5 languages.
• By default the output folder location is set to the Documents folder [e.g. C:Documents and SettingsSujayMy DocumentsSoundDownloader]. You can of course change the default location.

• Downloading went fast and smooth.
• On download finish, it asks to open output folder, but you can set the program to open output folder automatically upon download finish.
• Online help of the software can be found on the website.
• The software consumes low system resources both at idle time and during download.

System Resource Usage during Download Update In the latest version, the software supports batch downloading. Add SoundCloud links and the downloads start automatically. My Verdict The software is very efficient in downloading music from Youtube and SoundCloud. I like the simplicity of the software and at present find no problems in it. To manually create a portable version, copy SoundDownloader.exe and ffmpeg.exe in a folder and execute SoundDownloader.exe anytime you need to use the software. Please note that with this manually created portable version, you need to insert the license code every time. License Code The free license of the software, go to the following page. http://www.sounddownloader.com/getcode.htm Like the page as instructed there. Although I believe that they are giving same license to everyone, please do like their page because it will help to encourage them developing this nice free software. Please note that while entering the license, it will also ask for an username. You can put any personalized name there.
