If you have remembered, I have wrote a post on Emsisoft AntiMalware 6.5 some times back. Today I am going to write about the Free Portable
Emsisoft Emergency Kit, which is a perfect to tool to have in everyones USB stick for scanning files and PC on the go. It has
recently updated to include all the features of the latest version of the paid AntiMalware.

- After download comletion, extract the contents to a new folder and you will see a few files and folders in it. Launch start.exe since it is the all in one key application for the entire package.

BlitzBlank
BlitzBlank is a tool for experienced users and all those who must deal with Malware on a daily basis. Malware infections are not always easy to clean up. These days the software pests use clever techniques to protect themselves from being deleted. In more and more cases it is almost impossible to delete a Malware file while Windows is running. BlitzBlank deletes files, Registry entries and drivers at boot time before Wndows and all other programs are loaded. This tool used to be in beta but now in its stable build.

My Verdict
I always have this portable scanner in my USB drive and will recommend you to have it. Emsisoft has one of the best malware detection and the additional tools in the Emergency Kit are efficient for cleaning up remnants. The only problem I face is that you need to download the full ‘additional’ signature if the last update has been carried out a week ago. This is understandable since the ‘additional’ signature comes from Ikarus and its a problem of them to sent out incremental update after a certain period of time. But considering the efficiency of the Ikarus engine, it is quite acceptable.
Please remember to run all the components of EEK with administrative rights for getting the correct result.
Still have older version of the Emergency Kit in your USB drive? No problem, just run a update and you will be automatically upgraded to the latest version.
Cheers !!
