Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is now a popular name among security softwares. It is recommended frequently by security experts for removal of Malwares, and protection against Malwares & Malicious Websites. It has a free version which offers on-demand scanning for malwares and cleanup. The premium version offers real-time protection against malicious softwares and webpages, and also offers scheduled scanning and updates. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware detects prevalent worms, Trojans, rootkits, rogues, spyware etc. It is specialized in removing even the traces of scarewares, adwares, riskwares etc. However, the premium version is still not a full fledged antivirus, and thus is made to run alongside your existing antivirus without conflict. It offers an additional layer of protection, by detecting items that common antivirus skips. Verdict
I own a lifetime license of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and run it alongside Webroot SecureAnywhere in Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. It is light on system resources, moreover the detection and protection features are quite strong and I am fully satisfied. Unfortunately, the lifetime licenses are not sold anymore. It now costs $24.95 for 1 year & 3 PCs, or $39.95 for 2 years & 3 PCs. Remember, the subscription comes with automatic renewal, which you can disable any time after the purchase.
Personally, I feel the subscription model a burden for the end-user, especially because Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is yet not a full-fledged security software. However, the developers need remunerations for their hard work, and thus the subscription model is justified. Therefore, I recommend you to use this software alongside a free antivirus, such as Avira, Avast, Panda, AVG etc., if you are on a budget.
